About The Project

The Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology (SHIFT) is a research institute focused on developing advanced technologies in Bangladesh. It is Named after the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, H.E. Sheikh Hasina. The institute will conduct research in a variety of areas of Frontier Technology.

SHIFT Master Plan
The goal of the SHIFT project is to establish a world-class research institute that will help drive the development of frontier technologies in Bangladesh and contribute to the country’s economic growth and development.
The project involves building infrastructure to support the research activities of the institute, including labs, offices, and other facilities. It may also involve the acquisition of the equipment and other resources needed to support the research being conducted at the institute.

Environmental Action Plan
Information Regarding the Land Acquisition
Environmental Action Plan (EAP): Under EAP an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) has prepared to minimize or avoid high and medium ranked adverse environmental impacts as identified in the EIA during three implementation stages of project,- Pre-construction, -Construction, and Operation Maintenance.

Development works carried out in their own lands or in lands taken over by the government with due compliance of some definite processes or rules. This process is generally called as acquisition of land. the newly enactment Act, The Acquisition and Requisition of Immovable property Act, 2017, Section 2(1) defines the term as follows: Acquisition means acquiring the ownership and possession of any immovable property for any requiring person or organisation in exchange for compensation or rehabilitation or both.
